There are other commercial solutions out there that provide functionality similar to the IAQ. However, for a reasonable price, (as little as $60 USD) you can assemble a few parts along with a Raspberry Pi and our custom case to build your own indoor air quality monitoring device. It collects and displays comprehensive data, but unlike some other devices, you control your data which stays on the device and not in the cloud.
Unlike most consumer devices, you can see exactly which parts are used in the IAQ and check their datasheets for complete specifications. The software is openly available as well. Don't like a feature? Go ahead and improve it yourself - and feel free to submit that change back so everyone can benefit from it!
The IAQ onboard display shows our easy-to-understand air quality score. Zero is the healthiest air quality and 99 is the least healthy. The score was designed so you can ascertain your indoor air quality at a glance from across a room, with no conversion charts or manuals needed!
The IAQ has a built-in web server and VPN tunnel which you can activate for simple web access to your device from anywhere. No router adjustments required!
In addition to the device's LED display, The IAQ contains a detailed dashboard you can view in a web browser. All of the individual sensor readings and their history are available to view.
